Parenting is more important than Schools

Truth, Honesty, Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-violence are directly linked to child’s life. These values are essentially acquired during childhood by parents, first in the home and then at school. These Ethics and habits once formed in childhood are difficult to change. These ingredients are required for character building in a kid’s life who will later serve our nation but very few parents know that the most important school for character building is the home. This is where children observe their parents, which has influence child’s behavior and habits. At home, parents are the prime educators until the child starts school and remain a major influence on their child’s learning through school and beyond. Children have two main educators in their lives one is their parent and other one is teacher / school.

Now a day’s majority of parents belongs to high-income group is now feeling that it is sign of status to send their child to luxurious schools and even they left their child with maid. At the end of day, they get satisfaction that their duty is all over. In a blind eye, they feel that they are spending huge money on their kids and their kids should have been doing well. However, most parents do not understand that the child’s performance even at school is largely determined by the environment at home. Therefore, parents’ involvement in the learning process is important not school. Parents should understand if child learn good values and ethical behaviors, they would practice them when they became older & apply the same to his/her family or society. If the parent shows concern about their child, it will translate into greater achievement on the part of the kids. The more the parent becomes involved with the child, his/her teacher & school curriculum the better the parent knows about child & will able to understand educational process of child which is most important aspect of child’s psychological growth.

The parent and the child should become allies and are able to be of mutual benefit when it comes to dealing with difficult situations. The more the parent becomes involved the more the parent can help the child. This helps to provide a bond between home and the education. When the parents understand how the child develops, they are better able to provide a more positive and exciting home environment. This type of situation can produce a positive spiral of success for the parent, school, and child. Therefore, Parents’ involvement is vital for early childhood education. If parents are aware of a teacher's/schools instructional goals, they may provide resources and support for those learning aims at home. Parent involvement may facilitate the development of consistent disciplinary approaches across home and school. Parental involvement in checking homework, attending school meetings and events, discussing school activities at home has a more powerful influence on kid’s academic performance than anything else. These effort put forth by has a bigger impact on their children’s educational achievement than the effort expended by either teachers or the kids themselves. Thus, Parents are critical assets in education and more important than schools. The concept of parental involvement with the kid and the school is a vital one and can produce great rewards for all concerned. It is no doubt that Children learn best with their parents. At last, one can clearly say that good parenting is more important than a good school.
